Cash is the easiest way to contribute, whether by check, credit card or actual cash. Donors who make gifts of cash will receive a charitable deduction in the year the gift is made.  When making your contribution by check, please write your check payable to YVCF and include the fund name on the memo line.

 

Publicly-traded securities are eligible for donation and can provide a charitable deduction for their fair market value. By donating securities to the Community Foundation, you may avoid capital gains taxes that might otherwise occur at the sale of the securities.  Please click here for instructions on how to give securities.

 

Include the Community Foundation in your will. The bequest can take the form of a specific item (such as a home), a specific amount or a percentage of your estate. Bequests may reduce your taxable estate. Your professional advisor will most likely have specific language to recommend and will need the following information: the Community Foundation address, 465 Anglers Drive, Suite 2G Steamboat Springs, CO (Mailing address:  P.O. You can name the Community Foundation as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy, IRA or other retirement asset.

 

You may choose to give residential or commercial real estate or undeveloped land and receive an immediate tax deduction. Contact us to discuss the various options that can benefit you and the Yampa Valley.

 

Once you have decided what method of giving fits your needs you may choose a giving vehicle: start a Donor Advised Fund, give to a Field of Interest Fund, select a local nonprofit organization(s) or give to the Community Foundation Operating Fund. We will work with you and your financial advisor to meet your charitable giving goals.
